Our story
An Iquique ensemble born dancing Rapa Nui
Kahuira is an ensemble founded in 1997 whose mission is to research, promote, and disseminate traditional national culture, a sustained effort spanning nearly 3 decades of showcasing artistic work on local, national, and international stages. Its history has been marked by a commitment to artistic training and the creation of participatory spaces for various generations. Its contribution has helped project the name of the Tarapacá region beyond its borders, strengthening the value of dance as a cultural and identity expression.

Cultural identity
From the Pacific to the pampa
Kahuira was founded in Iquique in 1997, initially performing Rapa Nui dances. This bond has been nurtured through field research and cultural exchange with the island across 6 trips.
